Why Focus on Diversity?

American demographics are rapidly changing with significant implications for fundraisers. Census figures show that minority groups, including blacks, Hispanics, Asians and Native Americans, now represent one-third of the population. These groups are growing in numbers and influence, and today account for some $1.2 trillion in buying power, and potential charitable giving.

Moving toward greater diversity acknowledges not only a commitment to fairness and equality, but also an effort to mirror the changing look and feel of our communities. Check the links below to learn more about how and why to make diversity part of your organization´s mission.
