  • Bringing clarity to a personal or professional issue through focused conversations.
  • Being a good listener with the individual's best interests in mind and at heart.
  • Challenging individuals to go beyond where they would go themselves.
  • Being available as a sounding board.
  • Creating a personal or professional career plan and providing support and assistance along the way.
  • Sharing their fundraising secrets and tips only learned through experience.
  • Offering suggestions to help the individual advance in life by sharing experiences, or a personal or professional contact.
  • Advice on career path options and CFRE credentials

Program Highlights:

  • Highlights and promotes the benefits of mentoring.
  • Creates a mutually beneficial mentor program for mentors and protégés.
  • Provides linkages for members looking for mentors or protégés.
  • Fosters AFP ethics and incorporates AFP programs and services.
  • Provides tips, guidance and structure for mentor relationships to thrive.
  • Quarterly informal Mentor/Protégé networking socials.
  • Mentors and Protégés commit to a one year relationship.
