Eastside & South Sound
Eastside
The Eastside subgroup - a.k.a. The Eastside Program Committee (EPC) - includes representatives who live and/or work on the east side of Lake Washington. The group meets monthly to plan programs on topics of interest and to discuss fundraising issues unique to the population, geography and organizations in the cities and unincorporated area on the Eastside.
In recent years, the EPC has presented programs featuring agency directors, leading philanthropists, fund development staff and experts on social networking, grantmaking, and community connections. The programs tend to be breakfast events or programs after work to accommodate work schedules and commutes.

South Sound
The AFP South Sound Chapter was chartered in June 2006 to better serve the educational and networking needs of fundraising leaders living or working in the south Puget Sound region. This includes Pierce, Mason, Thurston, Kitsap and South King counties.
The South Sound Chapter was sponsored by AFP Washington, which provided an initial grant for start-up funding. The Washington Chapter and the South Sound Chapter collaborate on activities throughout the year, including National Philanthropy Day and the Major Gifts Symposium, and have a reciprocal registration agreement that allows members of either chapter to attend the other chapter's events for the member fee.
The South Sound Chapter ended 2009 with 44 members, an increase of 15% over 2008. Members hail from a wide range of nonprofit organizations, including education, healthcare, the arts, human services, environment, animals, international affairs and religion. They hold a variety of jobs within their organizations, from senior-level positions such as Executive Director and Development Director to entry-level positions such as Special Events Coordinator and Annual Giving Officer. A noteworthy 20% of its members hold the CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Professional) designation. All members have a keen interest in continuing education and further developing their skills as fundraising professionals. They also enjoy the many outstanding networking and information-sharing opportunities provided through their AFP membership.
