Mentor & Protégé Program
Leadership is not magnetic personality - that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not "making friends and influencing people", that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.
Peter F. Drucker
All current AFP Washington members are invited to apply to participate in the Mentoring Program free of charge. This one-year program enhances the careers of fundraising leaders regardless of how long they've been in the field. Mentors and protégés receive informal yet structured guidance and networking opportunities throughout the year. Please note that this program is available only to current AFP-WA members.
Mentor/protégé matches are made twice annually
The most recent deadline for applying passed on April 16, 2010. The application deadline for the next round of consideration is October 15, 2010.
